Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Mosatsu (the “App”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
- The App is for users 17+.
- Characters and chat content are fictional / AI-generated entertainment.
- In-app purchases are one-time unlocks processed by Apple; Apple’s refund rules apply.
- You must not use the App for illegal, abusive, or infringing activity.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
2. The service
Mosatsu provides entertainment features such as browsing fictional characters, AI chat, optional text-to-speech (“read aloud”), translation aids, virtual gifts, and unlockable character content. Features may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued as we improve the product.
AI responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or unexpected. They are for entertainment only and are not advice of any kind (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise).
3. Accounts
The App creates a local user identifier and may sync profile and chat data to our servers. You are responsible for activity associated with your use of the App on your device. Keep your device secure.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App if you are under 17.
- Break any applicable law or regulation.
- Harass, threaten, exploit, or harm others, or attempt to involve minors in any sexual or exploitative context.
- Upload or request illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, or content that promotes violent crime.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, probe, overload, or disrupt the App or its servers, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law.
- Misrepresent your identity or age, or circumvent purchase, access, or safety controls.
- Use automated means to scrape, spam, or abuse the service without our written permission.
- Infringe intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
5. User content
You retain rights to the messages you type. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display that content solely as needed to operate and improve the App (including generating AI replies and audio). You represent that you have the rights needed to submit that content and that it does not violate these Terms or the law.
6. Virtual items and in-app purchases
- Character unlocks and similar items are one-time digital purchases (unless we later offer a subscription, which would be disclosed in the App and on the product page).
- Payments on iOS are processed by Apple. Pricing, billing, taxes, and refunds are handled under Apple’s terms. Contact Apple for refund requests related to App Store charges.
- Purchased digital content has no cash value, is generally non-transferable, and may be removed if we shut down a feature or the App, subject to applicable law.
- We may correct obvious pricing errors and cancel affected orders.
7. Intellectual property
The App, including characters, artwork, software, trademarks, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors. Except for the limited right to use the App for personal, non-commercial entertainment, no rights are granted to you.
8. Third-party services
The App may rely on third-party platforms (for example Apple App Store, network providers, AI / speech providers). Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR APPROPRIATE.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
11. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the App. Sections that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations, and indemnity) will survive termination.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise.
